Our Cheney Dentist Answers Questions About Tooth Replacement Treatments

Written by Dr. Collins on Apr 30, 2019

Repairing your smile after tooth loss may actually be more straightforward and stress-free than you’re imagining. Today our Cheney dental implant dentists are answering your questions about how to deal with tooth loss effectively.

What types of restorative treatments does Dr. Collins provide?

Our office provides a number of restorative dentistry options, so that we can match up each patient with his or her ideal treatment. Depending on your situation, you may benefit from:

  • Dental bonding
  • Porcelain veneers
  • Same-day CEREC crowns
  • Tooth-colored fillings
  • Dental implant replacement teeth

Which materials are used to repair smiles?

The primary materials that we use are composite resin and porcelain. Both of these materials closely mimic the appearance of natural teeth, while remaining strong and durable. Our team custom-shades and shapes both resin and porcelain so that the end results look exceptionally natural. When using dental implant technology, we also use titanium roots to anchor a replacement tooth into the jawbone tissue. Titanium has the ability to actually bond with bone tissue through a process called osseointegration, which is why it is so useful in restorative treatment.

What if I’m already missing teeth? What are my options?

You have a number of tooth replacement options available to you. Traditional treatments, like dentures and bridges, are designed to sit on top of the patient’s gum tissue. State-of-the-art dental implant technology allows us to actually permanently embed a replacement tooth in the patient’s jawbone. Single dental implants replace individual teeth; we can also use mini dental implant roots to hold prostheses, like full dentures in place. It all just depends on the current state of your smile, and your dental goals.

No matter how you choose to move forward, you want to seek treatment as soon as possible after tooth loss. You can always reach our Cheney dentists by phone, or by using the Contact Us page on our website to submit an inquiry.
